What this quote defines is that of you bring friends along with you to places and you know how they act (negative) then you are better of alone. In my opinion I rather be alone in bad company because I either don't want to be embarrassed or hang out with the wrong crowd. If they are putting you down or giving you negative advice, just leave them because those people aren't worth your time. If you are alone you won't have to worry about anyone else but yourself. You will only have to worry about taking care of yourself and you should. You have stay focused on yourself not others. You should never depend on anyone but yourself. You shouldn't worry about being alone because friends become fake or stop talking to you. They come and go
